Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Catering & Back-of-House (BOH) Superintendent to join a luxury yacht newbuild project.

In this senior role, you will represent the vessel owner during construction, ensuring that catering facilities, food service areas, and back-of-house operations are built to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with shipyards, contractors, suppliers, architects, and engineering teams to oversee installations, commissioning, and final project delivery.

This position is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in hospitality, cruise ships, luxury yachts, or large-scale marine construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the owner’s interests throughout the yacht construction process.
  • Monitor construction quality, workmanship, and project progress.
  • Inspect catering, food service, and back-of-house installations.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, commissioning activities, and system testing.
  • Identify project risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Work closely with shipyards, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Support commissioning and operational readiness before vessel delivery.
  • Verify equipment installation, accessibility, hygiene standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Sea Trials.

  • Restaurants & Bars

  • Cold Rooms & Freezers
  • Dry & Beverage Storage
  • Provision Storage Areas
  • Catering Logistics Routes
  • Loading & Receiving Areas
  • Apartment Catering Facilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of hospitality, cruise, or luxury yacht experience.
  • Previous experience in yacht or ship newbuild projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of catering operations, marine hospitality, and vessel construction.
  • Excellent project coordination and quality assurance skills.
  • Ability to work with architects, engineers, shipyards, and suppliers.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with maritime safety and classification standards.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site at the shipyard.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk extensively around active construction sites.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg when required.
  • Comfortable working in an active shipyard environment.

Salary & Benefits

  • Annual salary between €136,000 and €204,000.
