A well-established vineyard in Red Cliffs, Victoria is seeking motivated and dependable Fruit Farm Workers to support grape cultivation, harvesting, and general farm operations. Successful applicants will work across vineyard and packing operations while helping maintain high standards of fruit quality and farm productivity.
Key Responsibilities
As a Fruit Farm Worker, your day-to-day duties may include:
Vineyard Operations
- Prune grapevines to support healthy growth.
- Train vines and carry out canopy management.
- Perform leaf removal and bunch thinning.
- Assist with trellis construction and repairs.
- Monitor irrigation systems and support efficient water management.
- Help identify pests, diseases, and weed growth while following farm procedures.
Harvesting & Packing
- Harvest table and wine grapes according to quality standards.
- Sort, grade, and pack produce for distribution and export.
- Load harvested fruit for transport.
- Prepare produce for storage and shipment.
General Farm & Shed Duties
- Clean and maintain sheds and work areas.
- Organize stock and packing materials.
- Assist with general farm maintenance and housekeeping.
- Operate farm equipment and machinery where required (training may be provided).
Skills & Requirements
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience in vineyard, horticulture, farming, or agricultural work is beneficial.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and around the workplace.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting items weighing 10 kg or more on a regular basis.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to follow workplace health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
The following licences will be considered an advantage:
- Forklift Licence
- Chemical Handling Licence
- Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Licence
Applicants may also be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment along with drug and alcohol screening where applicable.
Work Schedule
- Full-time permanent position
- Up to 6 working days per week, depending on seasonal requirements
- Typical shift start around 6:00 AM
- Shifts may extend up to 12 hours during busy harvest periods
- Availability between December and May is important due to peak harvest activities
